A must-read for anyone who is interested in American, Black, and Southern foodways. A lot has been said about this book and I don't believe I can offer any improvements. Michael Twitty was one of the first in this modern era to cover a history that needs to be told in honest and stark detail. This book and its author deserves much respect.
