In 1927, when headquarters at 2001 New Hampshire Avenue, N.W., felt too cramped, the ladies at the Congressional Club, an organization for the wives of high-ranking US government officials, decided to raise money for expansion by selling a cookbook. And they weren't going to write just any cookbook— they created a massive compendium of recipes from Congress and the White House tables.

In 1947, the Congressional Club members were at it again, including handwritten and illustrated recipes from each of the club members, many of which feature products from the club member's representative state. This edition of the cookbook provides
