Shop Notes:
A fun cookbook full of Jewish family recipes published during the American food culture shift from the 1970s to the 1980s. Some recipes can read a bit adventurous (Filet of Sole for one with Banana Sauce) to Jewish classics (Latkes, Kugels, Challah, Bagels) to just good old American food. The intersections in this book are wonderful.
From the Publisher:
The central call to action for National Council of Jewish Women (NCJW) is, "Justice, Justice Shall You Pursue" (Deuteronomy 16:18). Founded in 1893, they are the oldest Jewish women's grassroots organization in the country and are continually guided by Jewish values that call on them to improve the lives of the most vulnerable women, children, and families. They sponsor projects both in the United States and Israel.
From their founding in 1893, National Council of Jewish Women has been defined by their advocates' commitment to and belief in education, advocacy, and community service.
