Likely developed as a community cookbook project marketed towards tourists to the Ft. Lauderdale area in Southern Florida. The recipes are pure local and regional fare, with emphasis on local produce and ingredients, much of which would be considered exotic or unknown in other locales.  Citrus, molasses, and tropical fruits take the stage here.  The Jams, Jellies, and Preserves chapter is really fascinating, but mostly readers will get a sense of what folks were eating in Ft. Lauderdale back in the days before Florida became a tourist and retirement mecca.
