De Bonnes Choses A Manger
A delightful community cookbook benefitting the St. Matthew's Guild in Houma, Louisiana. Whenever I pick up a Cajun community cookbook, I know I'm going to have a culinary adventure and this cookbook is a homey mixture of Cajun, Creole, Acadian (Eastern Canadian), and 1960s American. Not every recipe will appeal to modern tastes, but a great many will - those in between will have an excellent time cooking alongside the last owner who left notes alongside many of the recipes.
The Beverage, Hot Breads, and Cakes & Cookies chapters are standouts.
